Friday the 30th

My co-workers were invited to an Argentine Halloween party the day before Halloween. We went as Fraggles from Fraggle Rock! James went as a robot from Flight of the Conchords' music video The Humans Are Dead.
The Fraggles! I'm Mokey, the purple one.
James, me, a Doozer, and another Fraggle. The other couple is really Xell (pr. Chell) and Fernando.
Robo-boogie.
James' head looks like it's floating!
James...where are you?

Ballunar Festival

We drove down to NASA's campus to watch the Ballunar Festival with Jose and Sarah. They're both enginerds at NASA, and either have worked or are still working shuttle missions. It was fun to walk around with them and see all the balloons. All the balloons would burn their fuel at the same time after the sun set. When they did this, they called it a glow.

All the balloons glowing!

Bunny Butt

The energizer bunny balloon was filled right next to us. The crew gave us the bunny's butt. Enjoy watching a growing bunny butt!

Niagra Falls

I got to travel to Toronto on business, so during the trip my co-workers and I traveled to Niagra Falls. The Canadian side is beautiful! As far as the surrounding town anyway. Enjoy.

The Falls come from this river.
There are beautiful changing colors on the river.
Yummy, crisp, fresh looking water going over The Falls.

60's Rogers

Austin City Limits

In the beginning of October we went to the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival mainly to see John Legend, Mos Def, and The Decemberists. Two days before we went we saw John Legend in concert here in Houston, so it was double the fun for me! His shows are always great so if you ever have a chance to see him, DO IT! Anyway, we had tickets to Friday and Saturday shows at ACL. The weather was gorgeous on Friday, sunny and warm. On Saturday it rained ALL day, so walking through Zilker Park was like walking through soup. Ew!We got comfy sitting on our Kathy's Closet blanket.
James, Dana, and Adam enjoying Phoenix.
One of the stages. Phoenix was performing and they were awesome. Very appreciative of the thousands of people who came to see them. The way they soaked in the moment made me want to cry! Just like Top 10 on ESPN...
John Legend appeared out of no where! We were THAT close! Actually we've been closer, he walked right next to our seats at the show we saw him at in January. Mmm.
Me and James took a break during the show to take a picture.
John Legend at night...in a tank top.
James, Dana, and Adam during a Saturday show. This was one of the few breaks we had from the rain all day.
Me and James waiting for Mos Def to come on during another short break from the rain.
Mos Def. His show started 20 minutes late, which was so not cool. Then he played the drums and his show wasn't very impressive. Boo for that show.
James, Eric, Hannah, Dana, and Adam at the end of Saturday.

A Project

James and our friends, Timmy and Tye, decided it was time to brew their own beer. So they used our home as the brewery. The first batch was Samuel Smith Nut Brown. The project began on September 6th if the calendar in my camera is correct.Brewing
Moving the beer from the pot to the primary fermenter.
Moving the beer again, this time from the carboy back to the primary fermenter.
Bottling!
We sampled the batch 6 or 7 weeks after the process began. Cheers to brown beer! It came out tasting more like a wheat beer than the Sam Smith Nut Brown. Batch 2 is in the planning stages and we'll have an update on that later on.
