Spain Part 3

Typical street signs in Madrid. All the street signs are on the corners of buildings! The first few days I could never find where the street signs were! The sign on the left is for Calle Mayor. The street (calle) where the Plaza Mayor is.
Beautiful buildings on Calle Mayor.
A little street off of Calle Mayor called San Gines (hee-nays). The famous Chocolateria San Gines is at the bottom.
I sat outside Chocolateria San Gines and this was my view. Pretty doors.
Mmmm, chocolate to drink, some fried goodness, and the typical small beer.
Chocolateria San Gines
Calle del Arenal. The shade was lovely! Follow this street to get to Palacio Real.
Plaza de la Puerta del Sol (Plaza of the door to the sun, right?). The Tio Pepe sign was a good landmark for us.

Spain Part 2

Choosing photos to post is really hard. I have a lot of close-ups of these buildings that even I couldn't mess up for a nice photo. I give you the zoomed out photos of the important things I saw.Palacio Real
Catedral de Santa MarĂa la Real de la Almudena
Walking up to Plaza Mayor from the south.

Update: Batch #3

Before I get into more Spain pictures, I better give an update on Batch #3 of beer the boys made. It turned out fabulous! A lovely ginger pale ale for summer. Everyone was relieved the boys came out with a beer that tasted like the beer it was supposed to. Cheers!Lovely color
James, Tye, and Jen enjoying #3.

spain

Work sent me to Madrid, Spain for work! I was there alone for six sleeps, and then James joined me on Friday the 23rd. While I was alone I got tons of walking and shopping and picture taking in! Here are some photos I took when I was by myself.I went for a walk and ran into these people I knew in Houston! They recently went back to our Madrid office and it was just so funny running into them. They were such a big help pointing me to the best spots to see in Madrid.
Herbie was in Madrid! I saw this car twice while I was there.
Cured ham legs haning at Museo del Jamon. This is the famous place to eat yummy ham!
Yummy cured ham...YUMMY.
