Spring Time Means...

Allergies! My eyes are itchy, my throat gets itchy, my sinus pressure increases, and it makes me feel bleh. So all this stuff comes out of the cabinet. Not pictured: Claritin.

Thank you Auntie Nita

Auntie Nita gave us a beautiful gift for our wedding. We finally put it in a frame! It hangs above the pantry in our kitchen. Very fitting since we spend a lot of time in the kitchen...I mean James spends a lot of time there...Anyway, quyaana Auntie Nita! It's beautiful.

Our Home

Curtains and spring flowers in our home! Curtains make our home feel more homey. We're finally adding things to make our place feel homey...a year after moving in, but oh well. It's gotta happen sometime.

Curtain Rods

We finally bought some curtain rods and curtains to put up in our living room. James kept running into wood around the windows after going through drywall. So he would drill another hole...again he'd run into wood. So he'd drill another hole. And finally...So after finally getting the screws to go in like they should, James filled all the other holes. Of course this was the day after filling the holes in his drum. So James goes, "Man, I feel like all I've been doing is filling holes with wood." Hahahaaaaaaaa....he really meant it at the time, but then thought about what he said and laughed at himself.

James and his old drum

James has an old 1959 or 1960 Slingerland bass drum that he's restoring. For some reason, the previous owner(s) drilled a lot of holes into the drum to put on different hardware. James wants to put on the original hardware and such, so he's been plugging up the holes and cleaning all the hardware. It's his after work project, his on the weekend project. Whole drum in the condition he got it in.
After removing some of the hardware. Notice how dirty it is!
Holes made by the previous owner(s).

Which are the clean ones?

A new leg on the drum.

First Ride

Even though it was chilly out, I needed to try out my new bike. I only went down the street a little ways. Now when I go biking around our neighborhood, I use a helmet that matches my bike. Otis usually runs next to me when I bike. And now James tags along with his rollerblades and hockey stick. We're the neighborhood gang!

Dishwasher Update

So...the dishwasher guy came almost two weeks after doing dirty dishes by hand. He comes and flips a switch near the garbage disposal. The dishwasher starts without fixing a thing. It cost us $60 and nearly two weeks of doing dishes by hand. By hand...
