King James in town

We went to the Rockets vs. Cavs game and got to see Lebron James and Shaq. Here's King James shooting a free throw and Shaq resting.

Gussie visited!

Aaron and Gussie were in Houston early this month and we got to visit with them. It was fun! We went downtown one night to meet up with Aaron's friend pictured here in the far right. It was good to laugh with someone from home and explore Houston with.

Holiday Party at Work

My work threw a lovely Christmas party on the only day it snowed all year, December 4th. It was wonderful to get out of the office early and celebrate a good year. These are the people I usually see daily. The Alaska/Canada team and a few from the rest of the company who wish they were on our team. :)
Anna and Victoria. Anna is on the Alaska team, and her house is our Woodlands, TX 'hotel'. Victoria works for Gulf of Mexico, but she can't help it. :)
Victoria and I.

Our tree

We got to upgrade our tree this year. Last year we had a four-foot tree, but this year we were able to get a 'regular' size tree. And we were earth friendly. This tree comes from a farm where they plant two trees for every tree they cut down. Yaaayyyyyy.Cutting off the wrapping.

Hometown Bar

We visited James' hometown bar with his pals, Joe, Sean, and Paul. It was such a good night, we closed the place down at 4am! I can't believe James and I were able to stay up that late, since we're usually asleep by 11pm. I guess time flies when you're having fun.

Hofstra University Trip

We visited James' undergrad university, Hofstra, while we were on Long Island for Thanksgiving. Dr. B was his advisor and he's a real cool paleontologist. We had lunch with him, toured the geology department and the rest of the university.James in Dr. B's office. I like all the dinosaurs!
Dr. B and James in front of their display of fossils.
James helped prepare the big rock with all the cool shells.
Darwin poster created by Dr. B for a celebration of Darwin's work.

Houston Dinner

A few pals over for dinner.
Blueberry Delight
Peach Pie

A good meal

James was real champ and made me uuraq (Oo-ruck), which is fish soup. Just add water, onions, potatoes, and fish. So good.A lot of onions...I made James take some out.
Wine, pilot bread (big cracker), butter, and uuraq. Mmmmmm.

Otis turned 2 years old!

A new ducky duck for Otis
I went to a dog bakery and got him a pizza cookie, some other cookies, and a birthday bone cookie. Real spoiled.
